• Certification Details
• Current Texas State RN License
• BLS (American Heart Association)
• Oncology Clinical Nurse Certification (ONC---) (Chemo) or Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) preferred.

  • Provides professional nursing care for the comfort and well-being of patients.
  • Prepares equipment and assists physician during examinations and treatments.
  • Administers prescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, and monitors patient vital signs.
  • Observes and maintains records on patient care, condition, reaction, and progress.
  • The medical-surgical unit at Shoreline Hospital provides exceptional care for Ortho, Oncology, and Med/Surg patients.
  • RNs care for patients with elective surgeries, fractures from the ER, and medical overflow.
  • Inpatient Oncology department is the only acute inpatient unit in the region.
  • Patients may have a new or existing cancer diagnosis and are treated with chemotherapy/hematology interventions when indicated or may be treating them for symptoms related to recently having chemotherapy.
  • Focus is to create an environment that manages serious situations/conditions with the sensitivity needed to enhance and invoke physical and emotional healing reflective of CHRISTUS Spohn's Mission.
    • Job Requirements
    • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Able to assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care.
    • Two-years of Oncology nursing experience preferred.
