PLEASE NOTE THAT WE DO A 7-YEAR MOTOR VEHICLE REPORT (MVR) REVIEW.

*This is an on-site office position in Corpus Christi, TX - not a remote role - must be willing to relocate.* This position will oversee the entire Corpus Lawn & Tree Division that encompasses Landscaping, Lawn Maintenance, Tree Services, Lawn Care & Irrigation - only accepting applicants with a mixture of all those experiences or at least 4 out of 5 .

ABC Home & Commercial Services is seeking a self-confident Lawn and Tree General Manager who can manage multiple priorities and is people oriented, proactive as well as persuasive. This individual is also responsible for coaching, training, recruiting, and coordinating the activities of our Lawn & Tree Departments to ensure delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality services for all ABC customers. The GM of Lawn & Tree has the opportunity and is expected to develop Lawn & Tree employees so they can realize their full professional potential. The GM of Lawn & Tree is also expected to foster division growth through positive team development and a commitment to continuous improvement in our service and delivery process.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR

  • Minimum 10 years landscape/maintenance or related industry, and management experience required.
  • Adapts with a positive response to pressure, ensuring efficient management and continuous improvement.
  • High level of expertise is expected and the ability to spot and correct errors is important.
  • Must be able to communicate with members at all levels of the organization and customers.
  • Has some lawn care and irrigation experience.
  • Ability to forecast work seasons and personnel needs.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to organize multiple department workflows and create solutions for production, sales, and administrative problems.
  • Experience in Tree Services - arborist a plus, but not required.
  • Dependable and self-motivated with desire to work year-round.
  • Associate degree in landscape management or a related major is desired.
  • Computer skills: basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and excel.
  • Some travel may be required.
  • Experience in Lawn Maintenance.
  • Ability to drive a vehicle with standard or automatic gear and enter and exit a truck.
  • Maintains a good driving record, we conduct a 7-year Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) review .
  • Must hold a valid driver's license with an issue date of at least five years prior to the date of this application.

    Requirements

    WHAT YOU'LL DO
    • This position will oversee the entire Corpus Lawn & Tree Division that encompasses Landscaping, Lawn Maintenance, Tree Services, Lawn Care & Irrigation.
    • General Manager of Lawn & Tree must have complete knowledge of how to perform the primary responsibilities for each of the department specialists.
    • Fosters a team-based culture through an empathetic communication style that motivates and inspires.
    • Responsible for oversight of each department's budget goals and implements goals, plans, and coordinates action plans to achieve the goals set by the company and the division for each department.
    • Responsible for robust processes in place to respond to customer service complaints by phone, email, or face-to-face meetings; answers troubleshooting calls and resolves problems that are of a complex nature and follows through until a resolution has been reached.
    • Conducts weekly 1 on 1's with department Service Managers to address routine operations/sales efficiency and identify pitfalls or shortcomings.
    • Monitor Service Managers to ensure all services provided by specialists are consistent with ABC standards and customer interactions are of the highest level as experts serving the community.
    • Forecasts for future demand and purchases and/or replacements of equipment in coordination with Service Managers.
    • Participates in industry education programs and organizations as well as obtaining certifications for department head requirements.
    • Remains knowledgeable regarding company policies and procedures and communicates these to employees. Seeks counsel of employment law from HR when necessary.
    • Initiates plans to motivate service managers and employees to achieve goals.
    • Communicates weekly with Division Manager
    • Responsible for always ensuring professional appearance and promoting ABC "Core Behaviors."
    • Other duties as assigned.
